Draft. This is a plain-language starting point and has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet.
Effective October 19, 2026. hologram (sendhologram.com) is run by PBCT LLC (“we”). These terms and the privacy page are the whole agreement between us and the workspace that uses it.
Who agrees to these
hologram is installed by a Slack workspace. The person who installs it agrees to these terms on the workspace's behalf and confirms they're allowed to; everyone who uses it in that workspace agrees to use it within them. You must be 18 or over. hologram is an independent app and isn't made, endorsed or supported by Slack.
Whose faces
- Only mention people who'd be fine being in the picture. Their Slack profile photo is used to make it.
- Anyone can type /hologram optout to stay out of other people's pictures. Don't try to get around it, for example with someone else's photo or name.
- No sexual or nude images of real people. None.
- Nothing involving anyone under 18.
- No harassment, hate, threats, or pictures meant to make people think something really happened.
- Nothing illegal, and nothing that infringes someone else's rights.
- Don't try to get around the plan limits, break the service, or use it to make pictures in bulk for other services.
We can suspend or remove a workspace that breaks these rules, and we cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires it.
The pictures
Pictures and GIFs are made by third-party AI models and can be wrong, strange or unflattering. As between us and you, the workspace may use the pictures its members make however it likes, within these rules; we claim no ownership of them. The workspace lets us store, process and show them as needed to run hologram, including on a share page when someone turns one on. Whether AI-made pictures can be protected by copyright depends on the law where you are. Every picture's file is marked as made by AI; don't remove that mark or pass a picture off as a real photo. Your workspace is responsible for what its members make and share.
Take-downs
Both pictures are first shown only to the person who typed the command. The one they send is posted into the channel, where anyone allowed to in your workspace can delete the message; the other is deleted. If a picture shows you and you want it gone, or you think one infringes your rights, write to hello@sendhologram.com and we'll remove our copy.
Plans and credits
Plans belong to the workspace. A new workspace starts with 50 pictures on Free and gets 12 more each month, with 1 person per picture, and its pictures carry a small “sendhologram.com” watermark and, when posted, a “Made with hologram · Add to Slack” line. Pro is $19 a month and adds up to 10 people in one picture, sharper image models, moving GIFs of any picture, 200 pictures a month (unused ones roll over, up to 500), no watermark or hologram line on your pictures, team photos of up to 10 people, all 10 style packs, Studio versions (3 credits each), your own bot name and avatar, scheduled weekly posts (the line still shows in Slack Connect channels shared with another company). One picture is one credit, plus 1 for each person beyond 4 in it on Pro; a GIF is 8; a Studio version uses 3. A picture or GIF that fails to come out is refunded to the workspace automatically. Unused plan pictures roll over, up to 50 on Free and 500 on Pro; a monthly top-up never takes the balance past that, and pictures over it from an earlier plan aren't taken away. Bought top-ups are separate, don't expire and don't count toward it.
Starting pictures are given once per workspace; reinstalling doesn't give them again. When a new workspace installs from another workspace's invite link, it gets 50 pictures that don't expire and 2 more free tries of each Pro feature. The workspace that invited it gets the same once the new one is really using hologram (3 pictures sent, by at least 2 people), for up to 10 new workspaces a month. Each new workspace counts once. We can withhold invite credits that come from fake or duplicate workspaces.
Remix with me and Make a GIF on a posted picture are paid from the pictures of the workspace of the person who presses them. Weekly scheduled posts use the workspace's pictures each time they run, and pause when there are none left or the workspace is no longer on Pro.
Payment, renewal and refunds
- Payments are taken by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and don't include taxes, which are added where the law requires.
- Pro renews automatically every month at the price shown when you subscribed, until it's cancelled. Cancel any time from the billing page; Pro stays on until the end of the month already paid for. The person who installed hologram and the workspace's Slack admins manage billing: /hologram plan gives them the link.
- A top-up of 100 pictures is $10, is paid once and doesn't expire while the workspace has hologram.
- Auto-refill is off unless someone turns it on from the billing page. While it's on, each time the workspace drops below 16 pictures we charge its saved card $10 for a top-up of 100, at most 5 times a calendar month. Turning it on authorizes those charges until it's turned off on the same page. Auto-refill turns itself off if a charge is declined, a payment is disputed, or hologram is removed from the workspace.
- Payments aren't refundable, except where the law says they must be. If something went wrong with a charge, write to hello@sendhologram.com and we'll look at it.
- If a payment is refunded or disputed, the pictures it bought are taken back. If some were already used, the workspace's balance can go below zero, and its next pictures pay that back first.
- We may change prices or what a plan includes. Changes to a paid plan apply from the next renewal after we've told the workspace, and you can cancel before then.
Share links
Sharing a picture outside Slack is up to the person who made it, and they're responsible for sharing only what the people in it would be fine with. Make it private turns the link off; copies already loaded can stay in browsers and link previews for up to a day.
Ending it
A workspace admin can remove hologram from the workspace's app settings in Slack at any time. Removing it cancels Pro at the end of the month already paid for and turns auto-refill off. The admin can also ask us to delete the workspace's data as the privacy page explains. We can end the service for a workspace that breaks these terms, or stop offering hologram altogether; if we stop it, we'll give at least 30 days' notice and refund unused paid time.
No warranty
hologram is provided as it is and as available. We do our best to keep it working, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or produce any particular picture, to the extent the law allows us to say so.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to a workspace for anything to do with hologram is limited to what that workspace paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if it paid nothing. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
Your responsibility
The workspace is responsible for what its members make with hologram and covers us against claims from others about pictures its members made or shared in breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and, where they apply, the federal laws of the United States. Disputes go to the courts in San Juan, Puerto Rico: the Puerto Rico Court of First Instance or the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. This doesn't take away any right the law where you are gives you to bring a claim there.
Changes
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we'll update the date above and tell workspaces that use hologram before they take effect; using hologram after that means accepting them. Questions go to hello@sendhologram.com.
